Spa Manager

General Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement, and oversee comprehensive training plan for team members to include, but not limited to, excellent client service standards, sanitation procedures, performance expectations, and company policies and guidelines.
  • Plan or direct spa services and programs.
  • Train team members in the use and sale of products, programs, and activities.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
  • Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to Accounting department cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with resort policies and procedures.
  • Check and monitor spa equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Coordinate facility schedules to maximize usage and efficiency.
  • Develop team members service, retail goals and guide team members in goal achievement.
  • Establish spa budgets and financial goals.
  • Retail inventory management including ordering products, pricing, weekly and monthly inventory counts and managing cost of sales.
  • Perform accounting duties, which could include, recording daily cash flow, managing checkbook and expenses, reading and understanding financial statements.
  • Perform weekly and monthly forecasting for upcoming business.
  • Recruit, interview and hire employees.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Schedule team members or supervise scheduling.
  • Verify team members credentials, such as educational, licensing and certification requirements.
  • Work with Marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies.
  • Direct facility maintenance and repair and utilize Service Pro to schedule work orders.
  • Maintain client database.
  • Participate in continuing education classes to maintain current knowledge of industry.
  • Schedule guest appointments.
  • Sell products and services.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure that all guests are greeted.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, although not details, as requested by Management.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year management experience in a spa or salon position.
  • Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register and POS system.
  • Possess excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Possess strong computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Window applications.
    • Knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel are required.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, project management, interpersonal and guest relationship skills.
  • Highly responsible & reliable.
  • Strong verbal and written use of the English language.
  • Knowledge of all treatments is essential.
  • Must have the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week.
  • Ability to:
    • Work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
    • Work cohesively as part of a team.
    • Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
    • Work a flexible shift.
    • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak and hear
  • Close and distance vision
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
