Job Description:
The Sales Manager is responsible for Soliciting Group business for all market segments to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in an environment focused on customer satisfactions. Working in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and sales (DOSM), Front Desk, and Banquet team will be required to execute business and client success.
Essential Functions:

Solicit and develop new and existing accounts, including weddings, to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

Give site tours to prospective clients as needed.

Maintain consistent correspondence and timely follow-up to customers and prospects to effectively accommodate real-time needs.

Communicate group needs effectively to Group Sales and Events Coordinator and follow up on group needs status.

Has a clear understanding of Resort goals and action plans to meet those goals.

Occasional travel required to trade shows, community events and industry meetings to promote Running Y Resort.

Ensures that the Group Sales Coordinator has all key information necessary to create group events, group blocks, and communicate effectively with all affected departments regarding group needs.

Works with the DOSM to develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers, and implement strategies based on those trends.

Participate in internal group sales strategy meetings, preconvention, training, and other sales related meetings as required.

Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue while ensuring excellent customer service.

Ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues with most updated information.

Ability to work well under pressure and present a professional, approachable demeanor always.

Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.

Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or minimum of 3 years hotel sales related experience preferred.

Working knowledge of computers including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Publisher.

Proven track record of client retention.

Ability to:

Pay attention to details in correspondence, reports, and daily organization.
