Rooms Manager

As the Rooms Manager at our beautiful, world-class luxury resort, you will be a key contributor to the reason why our guests are likely to return to visit us for many years to come. Your leadership skills will manage a team of Housekeeping Associates to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of our hotel rooms, vacation rental homes and the surrounding areas of our property. Your exceptional customer service skills will be demonstrated daily to create positive, memorable experiences for our guests.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operational and safety procedures are properly followed.
  • Establish schedule and plan daily work assignments.
  • Hire, train, coach, supervise and terminate employees in the Department.
  • Achieve financial and labor goals as established by budget and forecast.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Conduct monthly employee meetings.
  • Prepare and conduct timely and accurate performance review with staff.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics.
  • Consistently demonstrate S.E.E. (Smile, Eye Contact and Engage) and offer professional, friendly and excellent customer service, as well as training staff on S.E.E.
  • Ensure all guests are greeted
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and respond to online reviews in a timely manner.
  • Respond to guest questions, assistance, directions and information as requested.
  • Prepare all reports as required.
  • Order supplies as necessary.
  • Maintain department checkbook(s) for Housekeeping, Vacation Rentals and Laundry.
  • Check payroll daily to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintenance and safety checks.  Write up work orders as needed.
  • Maintain lost and found program.
  • Maintain a high standard of excellence throughout the hotel.
  • Maintain appearance of exterior and interior of building.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times
  • Maintain a safe working environment throughout the department.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years hotel experience and one year management experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license to drive to buildings on property and must be insurable on the company insurance policy is required.
  • Knowledge of chemicals and operation of industrial machines.
  • Ability to:
    • Organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
    • Work with minimum supervision.
    • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
    • Work as part of a team.
    • Communicate effectively.
    • Read and follow both verbal and written instructions.
    • Work well under pressure.
    • Work any day of the week and any hour.
    • Attend any required classes for any necessary certifications.
