The Lead Aesthetician and Lead Nail Technician position administers professional facials and body treatments as well as performs professional nail, hand, and foot treatments to our guests. You will also be giving on the job mentoring for individuals willing to develop their body treatment techniques as well as training other employees in our spa's specific facial and body treatment protocols and our spa's specific nail service offerings. We are looking for someone who can do this while working in a positive, upbeat, and encouraging manner.

General Responsibilities

• Be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
• Provide consistent professional facials and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Provide consistent professional nail, hand and foot treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific skin care concerns.
• Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
• Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
• Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered while educating and training guests in these areas.
• Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa's policies and procedures.
• Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
• Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
• Handle guest's questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
• Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
• Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Train and oversee new Aestheticians, reviewing their performance, cleaning and service protocols, and providing areas of improvement as needed.
• Train and oversee new Nail Technicians, reviewing their performance, cleaning and service protocols, and providing areas of improvement as needed.
• Must be willing to participate in marketing events.
• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.

Job Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold and maintain a current Oregon State License

Experience:

• Moderate training in all of the following esthetic equipment use: Steamer, Vacuum, High Frequency, Brush, Spray, Steamer, Woods Lamp, Galvanic, Sterilizer, Ultrasonic, air brush for make-up
• Moderate position in an upscale spa environment.
• Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
• Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.
• Must be a team player.

Management Activities

• Train new Aestheticians and Nail Technicians in their expected level of job performance responsibilities listed above.
• Determine proper protocols for services and train accordingly.
• Create consistency in services among all spa associates.
