Your outstanding leadership and managerial skills will oversee the day-to-day operations of our beautiful Running Y Ranch Properties located in the Southern Oregon town of Klamath Falls.  You will be responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of property functions, including guest services, food and beverage, golf operations, spa and administation, as well a s creating and promoting a sales-driven culture that will the resort and all of our properties as a market leader.

General Responsibilities

  •         Direct the efforts of Management staff to direct the sales-driven culture and be actively engaged in all Sales &                   Marketing effectiveness. 
  •         Manage a culture that creates and positions RYR Properties as the finest destination resort/property in the Pacific             Northwest.
  •      Ensures the highest standards for food, beverage, sports and recreation, spa, and lodging. 
  •      Strategize daily on ways to ensure we are taking the right business at the right time, for the right price. 
  •      Participate in sales related community relations, Chamber and Tourism Authorities.
  •      Works with Department heads in the development of the Annual Sales & Marketing Plan and operating budget, and           ensures a strategic approach to sales activities. 
  •      Establish, implement and expect a level of service that surpasses all other Resorts/Hotels in the market.
  •      Embrace and enforce the development of key service behaviors that define the service experience.
  •      Engage associates in the creation of key service behaviors and 'push the envelope' to provide lasting, memorable             experiences for our guests.
  •      Holds business unit leaders accountable for service levels.
  •      Recognizes and celebrates outstanding examples of memorable service behaviors.
  •      Works with Director of Finance to produce zero-based, day-by-day, Annual Operating Plan based on potential, history       and trends.
  •      Oversees the care and maintenance of the resort's physical assets and facilities.
  •      Insures accurate monthly forecast of revenues and expenses and involves his team in the forecasting process.
  •      Actively engages associates at all levels.
  •      Communicate consistently and clearly through monthly/quarterly newsletters, Owner receptions, casual meetings and       scheduled events.
  •      Continuously refines the Hotel/Resort's sensory experiences to enliven the environment focusing on the sight, sound,       smell touch and taste.
  •      Ensures an uninterrupted, preventive maintenance program is in place for guest room, rental program participates,           and public spaces.
  •      Routinely tours resort, setting high expectations for cleanliness, maintenance and lighting.
  •         Achieve profit objectives through cost controls and productivity improvements.
  •         Attract and retain high caliber staff and help to develop their skills so that they can achieve their full potential.
  •      Complies with all policies set forth in Running Y Ranch Resort Employee Handbook.        
  •      Recognize and reward high achievers.  

Job Qualifications

   Education:

  • College degree in hospitality management or acceptable experience in the industry.

    Job Requirements and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in the hospitality industry, with 5 years of management experience.
  • Excellent communications skills with customers and employees.
  • Quality Food & Beverage experience a plus.
  • Complete understanding of creating and performing to operating budgets.
  • Ability to review, interpret and react to financial results.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write procedural manuals, reports and correspondence.
  • Experience in creation and implementation of company directives.
  • Knowledge and experience in the management of golf courses, food and beverage, membership, and administration.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.

 Discretion / Independent Judgment

This position has the authority to formulate, affect, interpret or implement management policies or operating processes.  The position is responsible for managing sales initiatives and projects to ensure that Resort objectives are achieved and that revenue opportunities are maximized. The position will also be responsible for assisting operational leaders in the strategic planning of their operational units to tie with other units as well as the overall resort objectives.

 This position is involved in both short and long term planning of business objectives.

 This position works with the media and external agencies as a representative of the company and therefore represents the company when handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances.   This position will be expected to resolve any grievances that leaders may have with materials or products generated by the sales team and finding mutually agreeable solutions to the grievance.

This position has the authority to make independent choices, free from immediate direction or supervision and makes decisions or recommendations that may be occasionally be reviewed, revised or reversed.  This position requires creative design when generating sales materials and will be expected to understand and meet operational leader's expectations and deliver a product that this position believes is appropriate for the target market.
