Controller
You will be a key player in all areas of the financial aspects of our world-class resort, from budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flows, and ledger balancing. As a direct report to the General Manager and the Owner of our properties, you will also manage a team of accounting associates.

General Responsibilities:
- Maximize Profits and Cash Flow
- Prepare assumptions and goals for controllable expenses, labor expenses by position and assists in preparing revenue departments goals.
- Assist General Manager and other resort managers in producing monthly update reports to pinpoint revenue and profit trends and challenges.
- Analyze resort controllable expenses, labor expense, and all Rooms, Food & Beverage, Golf, and other revenue. Present analysis and findings to General Manager and Owner.
- Manage resort cash flows and prepare monthly bank reconciliation. Requires working with resort General Manager and department managers for communication regarding anticipated cash outflows.
- Regularly reviews Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure proper collection efforts.
- Maintain checkbook accounting system for all departments to determine purchase approvals and manage spending limits.
- Manage day to day finance activities.
- Plans and implements all accounting procedures and systems for the resort.
- Assists in training and works with Night Audit staff to produce daily flash report of key financial indicators for the resort.
- Produce weekly labor report and analyze productivity performance.
- Prepare month end financial statements for all resort companies. Ensure report is accurate and available to property managers in a timely manner.
- Prepare a monthly general ledger.
- Review ledger details daily for guest, city and deposit ledgers to validate proper payment and revenue postings.
- Review daily flash report for completion and accuracy.
- Prepare daily deposits and cashiering.
- Manage invoice review and approval.
- Prepare check registers and print checks weekly.
- Ensure all internal controls and finance standards are maintained and all accounting detail is accurate.
- Provide corrective action as required.
- Manage resort capital expense budget and reconcile expenditures.
- Assist in conducting internal audits and report results to General Manager.
- Resort Development
- Foster excellent relationships with operations, sales, and hotel general managers and department managers so as to positively impact resort results.
- Participates in on-going task force to develop finance best practices procedures.
- Provide direction and training to operation teams on finance issues.
- Oversees Accounting staff.

Job Qualifications
|
Education:
|
- A two-year college degree with an emphasis in accounting or equivalent education and experience is required.
|
Experience:
|
- Five years of experience in a related environment preferred.
|
License/Qualifications:
|
- Demonstrated accounting knowledge and the ability to produce and analyze financial statements are necessary.
- The position also requires good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel is a must.
