Assistant Front Desk Manager

General Responsibilities:

  • Professionally carry out all front desk agent tasks, including but not limited to: assigning rooms, issuing room keys, ensuring that guests sign registration card, collect payment, post charges, maintain room key control, answer, screen and forward phone calls, take messages, schedule/change reservations, answer guest inquiries to amenities both on and off property, record guest comments/complaints, resolve guest issues quickly, efficiently, and courteously with little assistance from Front Desk Manager, verify banks and deposits, and follow all cash-handling policies.
  • Assist the Front Desk Manager with administrative duties and department meetings.
  • Learn full Night Audit process and fill in for Night Audit when needed.
  • Responsible for training front desk agents.
  • Creating and maintaining two-week out schedule for front desk staff using OpenSimSim.
  • Assist in managing reservations for third party websites including Expedia, Booking.com, Priceline, and Hotwire.
  • Assist Front Desk Manager with, and complete, all necessary employee documentation for the front desk staff, coaching/counseling reports, performance evaluations, salary changes, and termination documentation.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures set for by the company's Employee Handbook.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, but not listed here.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years hotel front desk experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Possession of government required licenses or certificates.
  • Strong computer experience required, including PMS and Microsoft system.
  • Knowledge of front office operations, including ability to plan, organize and direct front desk staff.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule.
