Assistant Banquet Manager
Responsible for assisting F&B Manager with operations of the banquet department, including managing banquet staff, to ensure a successful and effective operation resulting in a positive employee-guest experience.
Assistant Banquet Manager
General Responsibilities:
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for schedule of daily functions.
- Prepare banquet rooms for assigned functions.
- Assist F&B Manager with the selection, training, supervision, development, discipline, and termination of banquet employees
- Assist F&B Manager with preparing and conducting timely and accurate performance reviews with staff.
- Create and maintain two-week out schedule for banquet staff using OpenSimSim and notifying banquet staff of any changes to posted schedule.
- Assist F&B Manager with performing monthly inventory of all beverage and liquor supplies.
- Know basic bar terminology, wine service, and bar recipes.
- Display knowledge of food preparation and service.
- Oversite/working of events, ensuring events are carried out successfully per the BEO, guiding/oversight of staff working the event, being the contact person for the group leader.
- Responsible for billing at the end of the event, informing Night Audit of head counts, and informing Accounting of staff (banquet and kitchen) who worked event.
- Solve unusual customer requests creatively.
- Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by F&B manager.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years banquet/catering experience.
- Possession of government required licenses or certificates:
- Oregon Food Handler's Permit
- OLCC Permit
- Valid Driver's License and must be insurable on the company insurance policy.
- Knowledge of:
- Food, Beer, and Wine
- Beverage cost control guidelines
- Waiting tables for all meal periods and cocktail service
- Know Audio-Visual operations and setup.
- Ability to:
- Plan, organize, and direct activities of a group of employees.
- Develop an effective working relationship with managers.
- Operate a computer & computer programs and POS systems.
- Have flexible and open availability. This include early mornings, late nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Multi-task and work well under pressure.
