Accounting Intern

Internship Program Requirements:

• Candidate should be pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
• Ideal candidates will be a rising Junior or Senior
• Self-motivated with ability to work towards prescribed timelines

Job Overview:

This individual will support the Accounting Manager and assist with various administrative functions for the resort. This position is physically located on the resort property and offers flexible work hours. The position is open, and the candidate should be available to begin working immediately.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable in compliance with financial policies and procedures, using QuickBooks and Bill.com
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, coding, reviewing and processing payments in a timely basis
• Process employee expense reports and credit card charges with monthly statement reconciliations
• Research discrepancies and resolve issues
• Communicate with employees and vendors
• Maintain good working relationships with other departments, employees, and guests
• Handle incoming calls and route to specific individuals
• Review daily cash entries for balancing and recording revenue activity
• Maintain an organized filing system for paper and electronic documents
• Participate in monthly physical inventory counts

Qualifications:

• Experience as a bookkeeper or accounts payable clerk using QuickBooks and Bill.com is preferred but not required
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
• Proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook
• Customer service orientation
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and oral communication skills
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment with other employees
• A professional appearance at all times
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus
