Accounting Assistant

This highly self-motivated, professional individual will be responsible for support of the Controller in the Accounting/HR/Payroll departments by performing Accounting, Payroll, and Human Resources functions as well as assisting with various administrative functions for the property.

Essential Functions:

Accounting

• Handle incoming calls and route specific individuals.
• Maintain unpaid and paid filing system.
• Learn full Night Audit process and fill in as needed.
• Assist with giving constructive feedback to Night Audit concerning issues with daily flash report.
• Verify daily flash report and distribute.
• Prepare monthly lodging tax return/exemption summary.
• Ensure all invoices are entered accurately for payment.
• Request and save vendors' Certificate of Insurance and maintain log of current and outdated certificates.
• Balance night audit reports, count cashier/server deposits and make bank deposits.
• Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR department.
• Maintain accurate, current, and complete personnel files.
• Process Social Security verifications and Verified First verifications.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
• Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
• Capable of managing work load and prioritizing tasks.
• Expertise level of skill in working with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with co-workers and patrons in an English speaking environment.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality with company and personnel information.
• Integrity and honesty due to handling of company cash.
